The End and a New Beginning

Ashes slowly flickered down from the sky blanketing everything in sight. A dark grey haze blots out the sun. We stood alone in the middle of the silent street with the hope of finding some sign of life. We had nothing left to hold onto but each other. The shattered windows of the city around us were filled with nothing more than lost memories and dead souls. An eerie silence proved to be the mark of the end and in our minds, the hope for a new beginning.
